Paula qualified from Manchester university in 1994. I worked in the NHS in Rochdale for 2 1/2 years rotating on the surgical wards, neurology and musculoskeletal. I moved to the States for 2 years working in Northern Maine in a small hospital and outpatient clinic treating a variety of conditions but mainly musculoskeletal outpatients. Working in small town USA was a unique experience and increased my knowledge and management of different orthopaedic issues under a different healthcare system. It also enabled me to pursue my hobby of skiing in the evenings after work. I moved back to England in 1999 and after some work as a locum settled back in Rochdale working in both the NHS and private sector. I now work in the NHS as an Extended Scope Physiotherapist assessing and treating complex musculoskeletal patients in East Lancashire.
I have also done further training in physiotherapy for animals and treat horses and dogs as well as horse riders.
